Annually Knaphill Junior School receives in the region of £20,000 and Knaphill Lower School receives in the region of £17,000 of Sports Premium. The money is designed to improve provision of physical education (PE), other physical activities and sport in primary schools.
This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. However, schools will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
As a result of this funding, PE is a priority on our School Development Plan and we have been proactive in seeking out ways to improve the opportunities for all pupils at Knaphill.
