Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been another fantastic week across the Federation and one that has given us the opportunity to reflect and really look back at how far we have all come, personally, as a family, as a community and as a country. Thursday 23rd March was National Day of Reflection and signified a year since the country went into its first lockdown back in March 2020.
Across the Federation we spent time together thinking about loved ones we may have lost, the brilliant work of our NHS and Critical Workers and we marvelled at the adaptability of the children and congratulated them on how resilient they have been. Our assembly theme was about ‘Friendship’ and we spoke about the special qualities our friends have, why we need them, how important they are and how we can be a good friend to others. I am sure like me, you are all looking
forward to meeting up with special friends in the future. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend with your families.

Goldsworth Trust – KFOS Remote Learning Survey
Dear Parents/Carers,
The Goldsworth Trust leadership and board of trustees would like to gain an insight into your child’s experience during the last lockdown and the quality of the remote learning provision. Surrey Day Children’s Competition
For this year’s Surrey Day, BBC Radio Surrey is looking for school children to sum up Surrey’s natural beauty in 60 seconds.
Children aged between 5 and 11, are asked to record a short audio file explaining what they love about Surrey’s nature or the challenges faced in the local environment. Maybe it is the beauty that has been discovered during lockdown on a local walk or maybe it will be about birds or wildlife.
Entries can be presented as a self-authored piece or as a mini news report. Primary school children can enter between the ages of 5 and 11.
There are two trophies and two one-year family passes for the Surrey Wildlife Centre for the overall winners in each of our age ranges: 5-8 years old, 9-11 years old. There is also an Adopt a Hedgehog Gift pack for the 5-8 year-olds and an Adopt an Otter Gift Pack for the 9-11 year-olds, from the Surrey Wildlife Trust.
There will be two runners up in each category, who will each receive a certificate. When the entry is recorded, parents or guardians are asked to email them across as an mp3, including the name and age of the child and a contact telephone number.
Entries will be open from Midnight Monday, 22 March 2021 to Midnight on Friday, 16 April 2021.

The winners will be announced on Surrey Day, on Saturday, 1 May 2021.
Only one entry per person please and children must be aged between 5 – 11 years old on the closing date of Friday, 16 April 2021 to enter this competition.
